When I started snowboarding Johnny Tsunami was the spark that turned this nostalgic old fuck onto snowboarding. Then we got bootlegged copies of Stand & Deliver, The Resistance, True Life and it was over, I was in for the long haul. Wildcats taught me that partying was a part of the game and Robot Food hammered home that having fun on your stick wasn’t Lame. Each year I would pick a movie and drop 45$ to support the cause and support the riders that got me fired up on being fired up.
Snowboarding has frankensteined from traditional snowboard movies toward social media markets. The webisode is upon us and the snowboard films are getting fucked by so much free material. This isn’t horrible, there is a lot of radical snow surfing online for viewing pleasure. I still have faith that people will be making movies worth buying, and others will pay for them. But the ugly side of this scene is having a Twitter account and Instagram followers has become a weight on the table for negotiating contracts. Brand popularity is being gauged by Facebook followers and it isn’t unrealistic to see the connection between views earned and the level of support.
Here are some shreds we think have been killing it.
Griffin used to live in Whistler filming for a multitude of Canada’s top production companies from Sandbox, to 8MileHouse, to D.O.P.E. His reputation has always been about good style on good jumps. This year he pulled a Craig Kelly and moved to Nelson with his girlfriend. Two edits have surfaced from this OG, one filmed by his brother jibbing in Edmonton and the other was filmed in the pow pow by his girlfriend. Give the cat some love he is absolutely killing it.
TADASHI FUSE
Tadashi is one of the sickest shredders to not only come out of Japan, but the Whistler backcountry in general. This video is a MUST see, it gives an inside look into what makes Tadashi such a god damn NINJA! We are down with Tadashi and all of the YES crew for that matter!
Well shiiiiiet because we are biased and think the homies shred “Local Lines EP 1″ Sneak Peak from Tristan and Woody!
DUST CREW watch the video, take a year off whatever you’re doing and try this.
We are fired up about Intersection Film Contest happening tonight in Whistler. 4 edits filmed within 100km of Whistler, backcountry, urban, park, pow its going to be the shit! Check out last years edit and if you are in Whistler get your tickets! Link at the bottom!

Sticker job/Sled color match… probably not. Sending a road gap to sniper, deep as fuck pow landing… definitely.
The Sunpeaks snowboard torch has been passed down the lines of Oronge backed support and we are stoked to see the next wave is coming in fucking hot. Stefan goes huge all the time, he nick named himself the FONZ cause its hilarious and he can. It’s good seeing the next generation getting after it. The FONZ hails from the (250), rides for SABRE, RIDE, ORONGE BOARDSHOP and lives the dream with the SIBS crew
Trevor Karle is a DUSTER from the old country. This behemoth of a man can be spotted in the Whistler Backcountry, Black Park, or on a couch with three feet of gnarled glass in his hands. Check him out gettin a little twisted in this Westbeach edit.
